How to add a service
Create a new service item with pricing and description for the AI to offer.
Services are the maintenance and repair items your dealership offers. Adding them to DealerAI lets the AI recommend specific services, provide pricing information, and book service appointments on behalf of customers.
Add a service
Go to Services from the sidebar.
Click Add Service.
Enter a Name — a clear service title (e.g., "Oil Change", "Brake Pad Replacement").
Add Tags to categorize the service (e.g., "oil change", "maintenance").
Write a Description explaining what the service includes.
Enter the Cost for the service.
Optionally upload an Image for the service using the image uploader at the top of the form.
Click Save to add the service to your catalog.

The new service is immediately available for the AI to reference in conversations.
How the AI uses services
Once added, the AI can:
- Recommend the service when a customer describes a problem (e.g., "My brakes are squeaking" → brake pad replacement)
- Provide pricing when customers ask "How much does an oil change cost?"
- Offer to book an appointment for the service
- List available services when customers ask what you offer
Writing effective descriptions
Good descriptions help the AI give accurate, helpful answers:
| Weak | Strong |
|---|---|
| "Oil change" | "Full synthetic oil change including filter replacement, fluid top-off, and multi-point inspection. Takes approximately 30 minutes." |
| "Brakes" | "Front or rear brake pad replacement with rotor inspection. Includes brake fluid check. Most vehicles completed same day." |
The cost field is what the AI quotes to customers. Keep it updated — if pricing changes seasonally, update the service record so the AI doesn't give outdated quotes.
Tips
- Add all services your dealership commonly performs, even simple ones — customers ask about everything.
- Include time estimates in descriptions so the AI can set expectations.
- Use the image field for services with visual components (e.g., detailing before/after).
- Group related services with consistent naming (e.g., "Tire — Rotation", "Tire — Replacement", "Tire — Alignment").
