How to enable and configure Reach

Activate DealerAI Reach and set your preferred communication channels.

DealerAI Reach automates outbound customer communication — follow-ups, re-engagement, and appointment reminders — across SMS, email, and social channels. Before using any Reach features, you need to enable it and configure your channel preferences.

Enable Reach

Go to Reach from the sidebar.
On the General Configuration tab, find the Enable DealerAI Reach toggle.
Switch the toggle to On.
Additional configuration sections appear once Reach is enabled.

Set channel preferences

Once enabled, configure how Reach communicates with customers:

In General Configuration, choose your Primary Channel preference — whether to prioritize SMS or Email for outbound messages.
Enable or disable individual channels (SMS, Email, Facebook, Instagram) based on your dealership's needs.
Configure fallback behavior — what happens when the primary channel is unavailable (e.g., no phone number on file).
Click Save to apply your preferences.

What Reach controls

Once enabled, Reach manages:

  • Follow-up sequences — automated multi-step messages after initial contact
  • Inbound sequences — auto-responses when new leads arrive (ADF, web forms)
  • Re-engagement — reaching out to lapsed leads after a period of inactivity
  • Appointment reminders — automated reminders before scheduled appointments

Channel priority logic

Reach uses this priority when deciding how to contact a customer:

  1. Your configured primary channel (SMS or Email)
  2. Fallback to the other channel if primary delivery fails
  3. Social channels (Facebook/Instagram) if the conversation originated there

Reach respects customer opt-out preferences. If a contact has unsubscribed from SMS, Reach will automatically fall back to email — it will never contact opted-out customers.

Tips

  • Start with SMS as primary — it has significantly higher open rates than email.
  • Enable Reach on a small set of leads first to validate your sequences before going wide.
  • Review the Follow-Up and Email Settings guides to complete your setup.
