How to edit contact details

Update a contact's phone number, email, address, or other preferences.

Contact records are created automatically when customers interact with your dealership through any channel. You can edit these records to correct information or add details that the AI didn't capture.

Edit a contact

Go to Contacts from the sidebar.
Find the contact using the search bar or by scrolling the list.
Click the contact's name to open their detail view.
Update Full Name, Email, Phone Number, and Address as needed.
Add or remove Tags to label the contact (e.g., "VIP", "Service Customer").
Update the Source field if the origin needs correcting.
Click Save to update the record.

Changes are immediate — the AI uses the updated information in future interactions.

When to edit contacts

  • Customer provides a corrected phone number or email during a conversation
  • You need to add information collected offline (in-person visit, phone call)
  • Tagging contacts for segmentation or targeted campaigns
  • Correcting AI-captured data that was incomplete or inaccurate

Impact of edits

Updated contact details affect:

  • Reach sequences — messages go to the new phone/email
  • AI conversations — the bot uses the updated name and details
  • Lead exports — CRM pushes include the corrected information
  • Appointment booking — confirmation messages use the updated contact info

If a customer has unsubscribed, their record shows an unsubscribed status. You cannot override this — the customer must re-subscribe themselves to receive messages again.

Tips

  • Always verify contact changes directly with the customer when possible.
  • Use tags to organize contacts by interest (e.g., "SUV", "Financing") for targeted outreach.
  • If a contact has duplicate records, consolidate them by updating the primary record and removing the duplicate.
