How to view contact activity
Review the full activity timeline and audit trail for a contact.
Every contact in DealerAI has an activity timeline that shows their complete interaction history — messages, appointments, sequence enrollments, and vehicle interests. Use this to understand a customer's journey before engaging with them.
View the activity timeline
Go to Contacts from the sidebar.
Find and click the contact you want to review.
Select the Activity tab in the contact detail view.
Scroll through the timeline to see all recorded interactions.
What the timeline shows
The activity timeline displays events with icons indicating the type:

Read the timeline effectively
- Events are shown in reverse chronological order (most recent first).
- Each entry includes a timestamp and a brief description of what happened.
- Message delivery statuses are tracked (sent, delivered, failed).
- Vehicle interests are captured automatically when the AI detects a preference.
Use activity for context
Before reaching out to a contact, review their activity to:
- See what vehicles they asked about
- Check if they've already been contacted recently (avoid over-messaging)
- Understand which channel they prefer (where they respond most)
- Verify if they have an upcoming appointment
The activity timeline is read-only — it's an audit trail of system events. To add your own notes to a conversation, use the Conversation Notes feature.
Tips
- Check activity before manually contacting a customer to avoid duplicating automated outreach that's already in progress.
- Look at the channel mix — if a customer only ever responds to SMS, don't send email.
- Use vehicle interest entries to personalize your next conversation with specific inventory.
